Current Projects : Lashbrook Nature Park, City of El Monte

Lashbrook Nature Park will be the front yard of a community bereft of beauty and public space. Amigos is working for the City of El Monte to landscape a 75-foot strip of barren land adjacent to Rosemead Boulevard beside the Rio Hondo. Over 300 residents have been involved in its design. Amigos is working with these residents to beautify the neighborhood and improve safety in the community. The Department of Community Services envisions that this will be a critical segment of a system of natural spaces and parks to be built along the Río Hondo from Peck Park to Whittier Narrows. Upon its completion, it will be an attractive gateway to the City of El Monte offering additional community space for a healthy neighborhood.
