On Saturday February 8th 2014, over 300 children and families from the South Gate area, including volunteers from Southern California Edison, Amigos de los Rios, California Conservation Corps, and volunteers from the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts, Kiwanis Club, International Learning Center, and Asian Youth Center will converge on Hollydale Park in the City of South Gate to plant 150 trees provided by Southern California Edison.
These new native drought tolerant trees will create a beautiful shade canopy for residents enjoying the park for years to come.
Amigos de los Rios has enhanced the existing Hollydale Park amenities and added drought tolerant native trees, shrub landscaping, a nature trail and bioswale within the park helping with water management and enhanced connectivity to the adjacent Rio Hondo river trail.
Anyone who would like to participate in the tree planting fun is welcome to join us!!
