As highlighted by NBC Los Angeles, California Community Foundation, ABC7, and Pasadena Star News, after the devastating Eaton Fire, local groups are leading an urgent effort to save Altadena’s remaining trees. Volunteers and arborists are working to identify and water healthy trees that can survive and help restore the landscape, while raising awareness about their vital role in cooling neighborhoods, capturing carbon, and supporting local wildlife. Amigos de los Rios partnered with Altadena Green and students from Occidental College to support this effort.
Normally, oak trees and other varieties don’t require regular summer waterings, but because they are strained due to the fire, many will die if not watered. (Claire Robinson, managing director of Amigo de los Rios)

Hi, I’d love to help out! I’m probably better suited to the admin support position but can do the field support if that’s what you need more. I can’t get the google form to work. I just heard about this effort with the PR surrounding the county’s announcement about parks funding, otherwise I would’ve signed up earlier. I’m so glad you’re doing this work.
