Emerald Necklace Field Team Fellow
Under supervision of Managing Director and Habitat Restoration Associate, the Field Team Fellow plays a critical role in the weekly maintenance and health of our organization’s river greenway, and school greening projects.
Successful candidates will be able to maintain trees and native plants at various parks and campuses in Altadena, Pasadena, Arcadia, El Monte, South El Monte, Maywood and La Puente, Pico Rivera and unincorporated LA County California.
Emerald Necklace Volunteer Event Leader
We are an urban conservancy that owns no land, but partners with public agencies to develop urban greening projects in park deficient communities. Subsequent to completing the projects we help provide expert care to sustain them.
We host 100 urban greening stewardship events per year. The Volunteer Event Leader will direct our weekend volunteer stewardship events and coordinate with Managing Director and Facilities Director to ensure emphasis of work supports the implementation of our open grants and maintenance of our legacy projects.
Emerald Necklace Natural Infrastructure Design Fellow
Under the supervision of the anaging Director and in collaboration with our team, professional partners, key agencies, the Natural Infrastructure Design Fellow will use their design skills to conduct precise site measurements to create existing condition based drawings, conduct and track design development, including review of CAD topo surveys, creating concept plans, and using existing tools of photography, hand sketched drawings, reviewing site aerials, and using Adobe Creative Suite and CAD Drawing Skills to support multi benefit project development/CD Set Creation.
Design work includes site planning analysis, schematic & design development leading to Construction Drawings as required for stakeholder consensus, permitting and jurisdiction approvals. Applicants MUST already possess a strong eye and present a portfolio of designs indicating a high level of individual proficiency in urban planning, site level design and detail design ability.
Emerald Necklace Graphic Design Fellow
Under the supervision of the Managing Director and in collaboration with our team, professional partners, key agencies, the Graphic Design Fellow will use their research, design & graphics skills to support development of a comprehensive conservation education, interpretive and wayfinding signage system, and related environmental education curriculum and web materials for the Emerald Necklace ‘Mountains to Sea’ park network using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite.
Applicants MUST already possess a strong eye and present a portfolio of interpretive element/graphic designs indicating a high level of proficiency in graphic design and production of final artwork for manufacture. Proficiency is required in design layout, copy review, creation of original illustrations, photography, using Adobe Creative Suite, and hand sketches as required to develop final signs, education and web materials for a multitude of our park, trail, green-Under supervision of Managing Director and Habitat Restoration Associate, the Field Team Fellow plays a critical role in the weekly maintenance and health of our organization’s river greenway, and school greening projects.

Ability to respectfully follow and help perfect an organizational style guide and to find relevant precedent reference materials and work within existing design database is crucial.
