GIBSON MARIPOSA PARK INTERPRETATIVE ELEMENTS

One of my favorite projects is the Mariposa Park project. It’s a former precious metal melting factory in a neighborhood near a school. We asked permission to bring art supplies to the school, and the kids ended up giving us these drawings with beautiful butterflies. We asked, “What is going on here? We said you could have anything you wanted.” The kids said, “We have seen pictures of butterflies in our textbooks, but we haven’t seen any in our neighborhood.
