Amigos de los Rios is a non-profit that works to design, build, and restore safe, beautiful parks and open spaces while enhancing human health, strengthening community life, and preserving the environment.

Our vision: develop the Expanded Emerald Necklace, an inter-connected network of multi-benefit trails, parks, and greenways touching unincorporated areas and 67 cities, and connecting over 3.7 million residents throughout LA County and Catalina Island.

What we’ve done: created 35 new public parks and green places in underserved communities in eastern LA County since our founding in 2003.
